Martín Aguirre is the editor of the Archbridge Institute’s Mirada Sur newsletter, which provides a weekly summary of current events related to social mobility and human flourishing in Latin America. Martin is also the editorial director of El País, Uruguay’s oldest media outlet, where he supervises all editorial content and the newspaper’s opinion section. He also coordinates journalistic projects and teaches a written technique course at the University of Montevideo. Martin is a lawyer who received his degree from the University of the Republic in Uruguay and a master’s degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Montevideo. He participated in the Humphrey Fellowship Program in the U.S. from 2017-2018 and has been part of official Uruguayan delegations to different countries. He previously worked as a professor at the ORT University of Montevideo and a teaching assistant at Washington State University, where he studied Latin American literature.
