Kihwan Bae, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of General Business and a research fellow at the Knee Regulatory Research Center at West Virginia University. His research explores how individuals respond to economic incentives and how those responses shape economic institutions. His current work examines occupational licensing and healthcare regulations —including nurse practitioner autonomy, pharmacist prescribing authority, certificate of need laws, and military spouse licensure—and their effects on labor markets and public health. He has published in the Journal of Human Resources, the Journal of Regulatory Economics, and other economic and health policy journals.
