Jorge Luis García, PhD, is a family policy fellow at the Archbridge Institute and an associate professor of economics at Texas A&M University. He studies the foundations of social policies that address poverty and inequality in both the United States and developing countries. His work often integrates tools from development and public economics, with a central focus on human capital development and the well-being of children and their parents, especially mothers. His research has examined basic income, guaranteed employment, and early childhood education. Dr. García received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago and his B.A. in economics from CIDE in Mexico.
