
Clara E. Piano
Family Policy Fellow
Clara Elizabeth Piano, PhD, is a family policy fellow at the Archbridge Institute and co-author of the “State Childcare Regulation Index.” She is a visiting assistant professor of economics at the University of Mississippi. Her primary research interests are in the institutions that undergird markets—such as law, family, and religion. Her work has been published in scholarly journals such as the Journal of Law and Economics and popular outlets like Public Discourse.
Dr. Piano earned her Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University. She has won several grants and awards for her work, including the Women and Economic Freedom Grant from the Bridwell Institute (2023) and the Novak Award from the Acton Institute (2024).
