Socialism Targets My Immigrant Family’s American Dream

Despite its flaws, when you live in this country, your station at birth — or when you immigrate — does not dictate your destination. And so my parents lived to see their American Dream come true. Their now college-educated children have thriving careers. Their grandchildren play golf and attend safe schools and will never have to experience the same hardships they did.

My siblings and I belong to the 67 percent of Americans who have achieved or are pursuing the American Dream, according to a recent survey conducted by the Archbridge Institute think tank. We fall among the nearly three out of four respondents who say they had similar or better opportunities than their parents had.
